Talcott’s principals have over 50 years of insurance investment experience including evaluating, investing in, and distributing a range of insurance-appropriate investment opportunities.
We provide advisory services to a select group of private market managers on how to effectively and efficiently raise capital within the insurance channel. Insurance companies are some of the most sophisticated institutional investors with a unique set of constraints forcing them to operate differently than a pension plan, endowment, foundation or family office. Adding to the market’s complexity, each insurer differs by size, surplus position, liabilities, structure, geography, and regulator. These factors dramatically influence the makeup of an insurer’s investment portfolio. An insurance company’s CIO must think beyond the risk/return analysis and consider the insurer’s ERM, ALM, RBC, Regulators, accounting policies, analyst and auditors. Talcott Capital works strategically with our managers to establish detailed distribution plans, product structures, and marketing materials.
We are continually evaluating or advising a strategic mix of managers across real estate, private equity, private credit, real assets, and venture. Those managers may be first-time institutional funds, spinout teams, or established platforms looking to expand with new product offerings or their investor base.
