John J. Gauthier, CFA
Mr. Gauthier, Principal and Co-Founder at Talcott Capital Partners, has spent over 35 years at the intersection of insurance and asset management. Prior to founding Talcott Capital Partners in 2020, Mr. Gauthier served as a senior executive and Chief Investment Officer of Allied World Assurance Company, Ltd. from 2010 until his retirement in 2018. Additionally, from 2012 - 2018 he served as President of Allied World Financial Services, a subsidiary of Allied World where he oversaw the purchase of minority interests in, and development of strategic relationships with, four asset management companies. Prior to his time at Allied, Mr. Gauthier managed various investment teams at Goldman Sachs, Conning and GenRe / New England Asset Management.
Throughout his career, Mr. Gauthier has been a frequent speaker at industry conferences and has represented companies in front of regulators, rating agencies, stock analysts, and shareholders. He has also authored several articles in various insurance and risk management publications. In addition, Mr. Gauthier manages his own investment consulting company, JJG Advisory, LLC., and currently sits on the Board of Directors at the Reinsurance Group of America, The Hartford Funds, Hamilton Insurance Group and Middlesex Health Systems.
He received a Bachelor of Science from Quinnipiac University and an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst and maintains a Series 63. He and his wife, Anne, have two grown children and currently split their time between homes in Cromwell, CT and Charlotte, NC.
Todd Lovell
Mr. Lovell, Principal and Co-Founder at Talcott Capital Partners, has 20 years of institutional business development experience in the asset management industry. Prior to founding Talcott Capital Partners in 2020, Mr. Lovell served as a Senior Sales Executive for the global asset management platforms of Aberdeen, UBS, Brookfield, Morgan Stanley and Deutsche Bank.
Throughout his career, Mr. Lovell has worked with institutional investors and consultants across a variety of institutional channels including corporate pension plans, endowments, family offices, sub-advisory and insurance companies. He maintains a specialty within the insurance general account market where he has worked extensively with key decision makers covering both the public and private market investments. Mr. Lovell has successfully raised billions in mandates from institutional investors across an array of new managers and funds including fixed income, private equity, real assets, private debt and liability rated notes.
He received a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Quinnipiac University where he was also the President & Captain of the Rugby Football Club. He maintains his Series 7, 63 and 3 licenses. Todd and his wife, Jenn, live in Avon, CT.
